Copperline Creative Announces Start of Production for "Jane Wants a Boyfriend"

Feature film captures a truly honest and authentic portrayal of a young person living with autism

Eliza Dushku and Louisa Krause star and William C. Sullivan directs

JaneNEW YORK, October 16, 2013 - Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Louisa Krause (Martha Marcy May Marlene) team up in the feature film Jane Wants a Boyfriend shooting in Brooklyn, NY. Inspired by true events, the story explores a week in the life of a young woman with Asperger's (Krause), who enlists her older sister (Dushku) to help her find her very first boyfriend.

Director William C. Sullivan (Percival's Big Night), writer Jarret Kerr, and producer Lauren Brady work with Copperline Creative to create a truly honest and authentic portrayal of a young person living with autism. It's an inspiring story of overcoming life's challenges while embracing the comedic moments of everyday life.

Autism is a general term for a group of complex disorders of brain development. Jane Wants A Boyfriend aims to show that each person living with autism is unique. The film depicts themes that everyone can relate to - the strength of family, the search for love, and the struggle for equality.

"This isn't just a story about autism...it's a story about courage," says director William C. Sullivan. "Everyone deals with his or her own challenges, whether they are born with them or stumble into them later in life. I see a lot of myself in Jane and others will too. Her actions are what inspire me every time I see her on screen. Not her obstacles."

Jane Wants a Boyfriend is being produced with guidance from the autism awareness community to bring greater understanding and awareness to the spectrum of disorders. Statistics from the CDC identify around 1 in 88 American children as on the autism spectrum, affecting over 2 million individuals in the United States.

Copperline Creative is a new production company based out of New York City - devoted to purchasing, developing and promoting unique independent projects in theater and film. With a background in advertising, Founder and CEO Anne Dempsey brings a fresh perspective on developing projects with a philanthropic message like Jane Wants a Boyfriend.

Additional cast includes: Gabriel Ebert (2013 Tony Award-winner for Matilda The Musical), Amir Arison (The Blacklist), Anisha Nagarajan (Outsourced), and Polly Draper (thirtysomething).
