A Friend of the Family: Adapted from the New York Times best selling novel by Laura Grodstein, which garnered rave reviews, the story centers around Pete Dizinoff, a doctor living in a middle income suburb of New Jersey with his free-spirited artist son, Alec. When Alec drops out of college and is suddenly back under the same roof as his father for the first time since high school, Pete helplessly wrestles to prevent his son from falling off the path to success — but in a whirlwind that ends in bloodshed, Pete learns that success is a relative term, a lesson that has come moments too late.
